Vaughan Johansen has been instructing sailboat cruising courses since 2010. A native of Montreal Quebec, Vaughan grew up sailing and cruising with his father and brother in the Thousand Islands of Lake Ontario. Having to perform all the jobs on a boat from sandwich maker and dish dryer to helmsman and sheet trimmer and occasionally diving dropped winch handles, Vaughan received an all-round mariner’s education.
A natural teacher and adult educator, Vaughan has taught Keelboat sailing for more than 10 years. Accruing thousands of miles, Vaughan has taught sailing in Florida, the Pacific Northwest and in Canadian Arctic.
Presently, he teaches Keelboat Cruising and Coastal Navigation aboard a Grampian 26 sailboat.
