A proper sailing certification from an accredited sailing education body confirms that you have successfully completed the knowledge and practical requirements of a course.
Each NauticEd Certification requires completion of an online theory course plus an on-the-water training and assessment. Underway Sailing provides the on-the-water training and assessments for the NauticEd sailing training and education system. These include:
- Qualified Crew
- Small Keelboat Sailing
- Large Keelboat Sailing

A sailing resume is the most important document you'll need to charter boats internationally. Your sailing resume details your experience, courses, training, and accomplishments. Yacht charter companies require your sailing resume to decide if you are a worthy client. Without a resume, a yacht charter company will simply deny your request. As you get accredited for training, sail more, and take more courses your resume grows.

Sailing License
International Sailing Licence and Credentials - SLC
The International Sailing License and Credentials (SLC) is a recreational sailing license valid for all yacht charter companies worldwide including Europe and the Seychelles. To gain the SLC, you must hold a national government boating license (PCOC in Canada), pass an online suite of theoretical knowledge courses and tests appropriate for bareboat chartering, log previous sufficient sailing experience, and demonstrate sailing skills according to internationally established sailing standards.
